Uairrior is traditionally a team that assembles combat robots. This thinking has been in place since the beginning of competitions in Brazil, when Uairrior emerged and its participation began. In October 2009, however, this thought became a thing of the past with the entry of the team in other areas of the competitions.
It all started with the insertion of robot hockey category in Robocore competitions. After some competitions with an eye only to the category’s registrants, in 2009 the team finally decided to develop a new project and dive into this wing of the event.
After the 5th Winter Challenge, in July 2009, there were only three months left for the team’s next participation in competitions. Enough time to design three brand new robots and get the idea of hockey team off the ground? Nobody knew how to answer for sure, but everyone was excited enough to try. And, in that excitement, three new projects were born.
The idea of the names Cálculo 1, Cálculo 2 and Cálculo 3, is due to an internal joke during the design of the robots; the university’s three calculus subjects “terrified” a good part of the team, as is common in engineering courses. The nervousness brought on hearing these names was enough of a joke to name the new trio of “monsters” from Uairrior.
Today we have five hockeys, three holders and two reserves. Cálculo 1, 2, 3, Numérico and G.A.
Build report 2019:
In the year 2019, seeing the need for replacement, the newest hockey was designed, the E.D.O, this was the second project that had a structure adapted only for brushless motors, in addition to adding a small tower for the hockey to walk well. upside down, and it was a success, allowing the team to stay on the podium at Winter Challenge XV and HackTudo 2019. Currently the category of hockeys at Uairrior is one of those that hold the most titles, and not least, they are very well dimensioned projects and well-studied strategies.
